Arizona Round-Up

Last week I flew to Arizona to meet up with my best friend from college and it was SUCH a fun time! I was born in Arizona ~fun fact~ and I haven’t been back since I was probably 7 or 8. All I can say is that I am glad I lived there when I was so little and the heat did not affect me much. The great thing about Arizona heat however is that it is a dry heat which is the best kind because that means no frizzy hair ~thank godddd~ My friend and I explored both Phoenix and Scottsdale which are about 20 minutes apart.I’ll go ahead and give you a bit of a rundown of our itinerary ~yes I made an itinerary because I’m a crazy planner~ so that if you decide to take a similar trip you can use these ideas πŸ™‚

I got in on a Friday afternoon so once I landed and grabbed my bag I hopped in a taxi and headed to our hotel. We stayed at the Renaissance Downtown Phoenix Hotel and it was super nice! The inside is decorated so chicly and all of the employees were extremely welcoming and nice! I finally got to see my Ashley and we quickly changed and headed out the door to dinner. Originally we were going to go to a place called The Stand but it wasn’t open due to renovations but it wasn’t on their website so that was v annoying. But thankfully we quickly adapted and went to a different restaurant called Chelsea’s Kitchen and it was very delicious! I highly recommend checking this place out! Then we went to a bar called The Duce. This was unlike any other bar I have ever been to. There was line dancing and tons of games like ping pong and hula hooping. The interior was so cute and vintagey. I definitely suggest checking this place out because it is unlike any other bar I had ever been to, lots of fun! From there we walked to another bar called Bitter & Twisted. This one had a much different vibe but the change was nice. The bartenders were not the nicest BUT my drink was cute so that made up for it, kinda. They have all of these really cute fun yummy drinks which is what originally drew me to want to check this place out. Then we called it a night and walked back to our hotel!Topshop Dress//Topshop Sandals//Hinge Jean Jacket

The next day we woke up early and headed out for a hike! We hiked the Camelback Mountain and we took the Cholla Trial. This hike was seriously awesome. It was a bit scary at times and you are literally rock climbing the second half of it but it was so fun and I highly recommend it. The Cholla Trail is the easier of the two trails ~easier meaning less steep, still a v hard hike, let’s not get it twisted~ so I would suggest doing this one! It took about 3 hours round trip and that included us sitting at the top for a good 30 minutes or so! Bring LOTS of water and some food to eat at the top.FILA Miss Eagle Logo Tee //Lulu Lemon Shorts//Nike Sneakers//DIFFΒ Aviator Sunglasses

After that hike we seriously deserved some food so we went and had brunch at VirtΓΉ. This restaurant was about a 4 minute drive from the hike to the perfect spot to go to when you’re hungry after a hard hike. The food here was seriously so delicious I definitely recommend you checking this place out.

After that we headed back to the hotel, laid out at the pool for about 3 hours, and then got ready to go to a Diamondbacks Baseball Game.

The next day we woke up and we drove realllllllyyyyy far out to The Four Seasons Scottsdale to eat at their restaurant called Proof. This hotel was super super far out but the food was delicious and the scenery around the hotel was absolutely breathtaking. If you don’t mind a bit of a drive I would highly recommend checking it out! LeithΒ Ottoman Ribbed Tank

After we were finished eating we headed straight to TopGolf. I had never done TopGolf before but had always wanted to! It was super fun but very hard!! We got cider and beer and had a great time.

After TopGolf we went to THE cutest vintage diner in all of the land. It’s called Sugar Bowl and it is all pastel pink and just completely picture perfect. I had heart eyes the entire time I was in it. As if the decor wasn’t enough the dessert was delicioussssss as well. I definitely recommend going here for a sweet treat during the day!

After this we walked around a bit and found a mall ~I mean I was there so a mall had to be in sight~ haha we shopped around a bit and then we headed to dinner! For dinner we went to Diego Pops and I think Ashley and I both agreed that this was our favorite meal. The restaurant itself was so very cute and the tacos were delicious as well. Super well priced so you won’t break the bank going here which is also key. After we ate we walked to a country bar which is actually Dierks Bentleys bar called Whiskey Row. This place was SO FUN! Ashley and I love country so this was the perfect place for us. We danced and sang out hearts out and my mouth hurt from smiling so big at the end of the night. That’s when you know it was a good time!

I definitely recommend going to Arizona for a fun girls trip and be sure to try out some of my recommendations to make your trip Vest Dressed approved!
