I love, love, LOVE jewelry and this year there are many new trends to keep an eye out for!
Today my sister and I went to the Arts District to see all of the amazing street art that is covering the streets from head to toe! It was so neat to see all of the art and to explore another part of downtown Los Angeles. Of course while going to the Arts District I thought it would be a perfect opportunity for backdrops for one of my blog posts! This post is all about patterns, patterns, and MORE patterns!! I love mixing and matching patterns, keeps my style funky fresh!
While in St.Martin they have all of these tents that the local people put up and they sell so much stuff! Each tent is filled with dresses, shirts, jewelry, purses, and literally anything else you could imagine! They are so fun to look around at! I think I spent about two hours total strolling through but I could have spent five hours because there was so much to see! The tents all set up look like this…
While shopping around my Mom (vestrb) found the cutest dress! Once I saw her try it on I knew I had to get it too! I loved how it looked on her so I got the same one for myself in white! It was so fun to have a matching dress with my beautiful Mom! Below I will show the dresses! I am wearing a top knot with mine that made me feel very festive in my new dress! I also have Flash Tatoos on and I am wearing Jack Rogers with my dress!
Let’s just say I am beyond obsessed with arm candy. If I don’t have all of my bracelets on I feel naked! I recently just got back from a vacation in Saint Martin and I bought a bracelet from a brand called Halcyon Days. Halcyon Days bracelets are so cute and they are from London! Halcyon Days bracelets also have all three royal warrants, which is extremely rare! Love the hype around Kate and all the Royals? Well, they wear this brand! Halcyon Days are popular for their hinged enamel bangles that come in three different sizes. I absolutely love my Halcyon Days hinged bangle and I cannot wait to get more so I can layer them all together! Kate Spade also makes some great arm candy for layering. I love Kate Spade jewelry because it is a good price point and it wears really well. Not to mention, she makes the cutest jewelry and it works as a good addition to bangles you may already own.
We cannot forget that arm candy is not complete without a watch! My favorite watches to wear are Marc by Marc Jacobs and Ted Baker. I am also dying to get a Tory Burch watch so once I get one I will be sure to review it and let you all know how it is. The great thing about adding a watch to your arm candy is that it is a functional accessory. You can look good while being on time!Shown in the photo above is my Halcyon Days bangle, Pandora charm bracelet, and my Marc by Marc Jacobs watch
Some other bracelets I like pairing with my arm candy is tons of Alex and Ani bangles, my Pandora charm bracelet, as well as my beloved David Yurman bracelet. The best part of arm candy is that you can pair designer pieces with low-end pieces. It is about how they all look together, not necessarily how much they cost!
What are some of your favorite arm candy pieces to wear!? Be sure to let me know.
So today I went to where I will be interning to check it out and right across the street is the most amazing wall art! It was so cute and said LOVE all over it in red! My sister and I just had to stop and take a photoshoot in front of it (I mean everyone else walking by was doing it!) This also got me all excited for Valentine’s Day and to show the ones I love most how much they mean to me!I am wearing a Wildfox skater dress that is not only so adorable but also incredibly comfortable! I love how this dress has long sleeves because it is perfect for California ‘winter’ (68 degrees). I had no clue this mural would be on the wall and just happened to be wearing my heart dress, funny how it worked out! The hat I am wearing is from Topshop, of course, and I absolutely love pairing Keds with almost every outfit! They are the perfect shoe to just throw on and go. They also match pretty much every outfit which is a major plus! I am loving my time in LA so far and I can’t wait to find more murals all throughout the city! In light of Martin Luther King Jr. Day tomorrow and my post being about love he once said, “I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear!” I hope everyone has a nice MLK day off and that you all stay full of love and vest dressed!
I hope everyone caught my first vacation wear post (http://vestdressed.com/2015/01/vacation-wear/) ! I am just going to show you all the rest of the outfits I wore because I know spring break is approaching in just a little over a month and everyone is going to need ideas for their spring break getaways! This post shows some very preppy clothes for vacation wear but I would not want it any other way!
So I am sure you all are learning very quickly that I am OBSESSED with plaid since so many of my outfit posts incorporate plaid into them. I have had my love affair with plaid ever since I can remember (pretty sure my first bikini from Limited Too was plaid)! So when I saw these plaid pants I just had to get them!
I have finally gotten bean boots and I absolutely love them! Let me show you the outfit I paired with my new boots and then I will talk more about how obsessed I am with them! Bean Boots// AG Jeans// Turtleneck// Chevron circle scarf// Louis Vuitton//Marc by Marc Jacobs watch// David Yurman Bracelet//David Yurman Ring
So these Bean Boots are really great for rain and snow. They are extremely affordable for a pair of boots and they are also really comfortable! They take a bit to stretch out but once you wear them in a few times they are perfect. The only thing about these boots is that if you want them for the wintery months you need to order them in October. Sounds crazy but these boots are ALWAYS back ordered so the sooner you order them the faster you will get them. I love pairing fun socks that will show with these boots (as you can see from my photos!)
The turtleneck and scarf I am wearing are both from J.Crew and I loveeee wearing this combination so much. The turtleneck is so warm and cozy I never want to take it off and of course it makes for a very warm and chic look for the cold this winter.
What are some of your favorite outfits to pair with bean boots?! Be sure to let me know!
Happy 2015 everyone!! I hope you like the new additions to the website! My amazing sister helped me fix it up and I added some topics that I will be discussing a lot on my blog. Be sure to check out her instagram for the prettiest scenic photos (@ktakesla)
So I am back home and more depressed than ever. If you all have been following my instagram (@vestdressed_) then you would know that I have been in complete paradise for the last 14 days! My family rented a villa in Saint Martin on the French side (I will be showing pictures of the beautiful island in my travel section of my blog later today!) and it was the most amazing vacation to date! I would highly suggest the French side of the island to anyone thinking about visiting! I thought I would show a few outfits that I wore while on the island!
So first before I went on vacation I went crazy on ASOS! They have the most amazing outfits for vacation wear and their website is even organized for vacation wear so it is all very easy to find!
The first outfit from ASOS that I sported was this outfit where I channeled my inner Kim Kardashian! I absolutely love Kimmy K so this was everything I wanted and more! Also you all will notice that with all of my outfits I have Flash Tatoos on! I cannot rave enough about these Flash Tatoos!! They are so fun and a MAJOR vacation essential!
I wore this Kimmy K outfit with my Rebecca Minkoff envelope clutch (that my sisters got me for Hanukkah!) that I absolutely love. I also paired this outfit with a turquoise necklace and earrings that I got in Marigot at the Bazaar in Saint Martin. For those of you who don’t know, a Bazaar is like a huge flea market but they sell lots of Caribbean items and it is a lot of fun to look around at everything!
This lilac (fav color!) shift dress is from ASOS as well and it was the perfect dress for the carribean. It is so flowy and I love that the straps are flowers! So cute and elegant! My sister who helped me fix up my sight is with me in this photo!
The second outfit from ASOS that I wore were the cutest pom pom shorts in the world. These shorts are SO comfortable and they have pineapples and flowers all over them. I paired this outfit with a crop top with an open back that I got from Nordstrom a few years back. This was a great combo!
The next outfit from ASOS I wore was a matching two piece set that I have been dying to get! I have wanted a matching set for quite a while and this one is absolutely perfect! It is so fun to wear and I love the fabric.
For my last outfit I FINALLY got a pair of funky pants!! I have been wanting some funky pants for a while and I found some on ASOS (of course) and even on sale (score!). These pants are by seafolly and I absolutely love them. They are extremely comfortable and extremely fashionable. I paired my seafolly pants with a Brandy Melville t-shirt and Jack Rogers! It was the comfiest combination possible!
Phew, I know that was a long post but I wanted to show a little of some of my outfits! I will post another vacation post roundup next week with some other outfits I wore!
Did any of you go on an awesome vacation over your winter break? Let me know if you did, I would love to hear where everyone went!
As we shift into winter I thought I would post just one last fall outfit post! This outfit could also be worn in the winter however. Just add a hat and gloves and you are set. P.S. check out the beautiful trees behind me!!
I have been wanting a Barbour jacket for quite some time! I finally splurged and got one and I am completely obsessed!! I love that the sleeves and the inside of the coat are plaid! As you all know from reading my previous posts I am obsessed with plaid! It is so fun and adds major flavor to any outfit. The Steve Madden boots are my go-to brown tall boot for the fall and winter season! I absolutely love them. They are very comfortable and extremely affordable. This Faux fur infinity scarf I am wearing is so incredibly soft. My neck was so warm the whole entire day I was wearing this. I love it so much I also got one in black!!
I hope everyone is enjoying the change from fall to winter! I am escaping out of the cold for a bit to go on vacation with my family! If any of you are heading somewhere tropical for vacation too be sure to let me know!
