Desert X is a site-specific, contemporary art exhibition that was built in Coachella Valley from Feb 25th – April 30th. The exhibits are meant to bring alive the desert in the form of art which I think is just the coolest thing ever! My sisters and I were able to go to 3 of the many art installations. We went to Mirage, Circle of Land and Sky, & Curves and Zigzags. Keep reading to see the art installations and what I wore at them!
I conquered Coachella weekend 1 and I am here to give you tips and tricks for your time at Coachella. This was my first time at Coachella or a music festival in general so I was a little nervous, not going to lie. But, of course, the weekend was so much fun! My sisters and I got to go for free because my sisters company does work for Juice Served Here so we worked 2 quick 4 hour shifts and then could do whatever we wanted during the festival. We also, had free stay because we stayed at my Mom’s friends place in Palm Desert which was about 25 mins from Coachella. The house was so cute like a desert Barbie dream home, I loved it. On the way down to Coachella we stopped at the Cabazon Dinosaurs so they could photobomb some pics of us ~hehe~ and of course we had to stop at Hadley’s to get their famous banana date shake ~just try it, promise it won’t disappoint~ Pack lots of snacks for the drive! We left crazy early at 5am because we DID NOT want it to take us 6 hours to get to Palm Springs so I suggest you do the same or the traffic is serious hell.
On the way to Coachella we went a little bit out of our way to stop at the poppy’s at Walker Canyon in Lake Elsinore. This was such a beautiful pit stop even though we may have been a little late to see the poppy’s ~we will try again next year~ The mountains were still extremely beautiful. I wore a fun ombre maxi dress with tie tassels! Keep reading to get outfit details below 🙂
Last week I flew to Arizona to meet up with my best friend from college and it was SUCH a fun time! I was born in Arizona ~fun fact~ and I haven’t been back since I was probably 7 or 8. All I can say is that I am glad I lived there when I was so little and the heat did not affect me much. The great thing about Arizona heat however is that it is a dry heat which is the best kind because that means no frizzy hair ~thank godddd~ My friend and I explored both Phoenix and Scottsdale which are about 20 minutes apart.
Crazy enough I had never been to Laguna Beach before! I absolutely loved it there. It has such a small town home vibe to it. I just did a day trip here but no doubt I wouldn’t mind living here. Keep reading to find out where I ate, what I wore, and what beach I went to.
Just got back from the most glorious family vacation. It was seriously the best time ever and what made it especially nice is that we all, for the most part, got along so well. My parents absolutely love Hawaii so them getting to share that with us was really special. This was my first time in Hawaii as well as all of my siblings first times there. Let me tell you, everyday that I am home I think about it and wish I was back there now. I am ready to plan a trip back as fast as you can say Hawaii.
I went to Colorado about a week ago to meet up with my best friend and it was so much fun! I felt like Nicole Richie a bit because I stayed on a ranch with dogs, cats, horses, chickens, and more! Getting away from LA and going to country life for a few days was the nicest thing ever. While in Colorado I went to Boulder and Denver which was nice that I got to see both major cities while in Colorado
Spontaneity is one of my favorite things ever and randomly I woke up one morning and said screw it, I’m going to Palm Springs for a night with my best friends. The drive down was traffic filled but I am SO glad I went for that one night. While there we went and got drinks at The Parker Hotel and then got delicious Mexican food. Also, on the drive down we stopped at the MECCA of all In-N-Outs and there was an In-N-Out University and we got matching Dad Hats and everything felt right int he world.
I went to Vegas last month with my family and on the way there, about 20 minutes before you hit Vegas there is a new art installation called the Seven magic Mountains which is SO.COOL. It is a bunch of rocks stacked on top of each other that are painted all different neon colors. These photos have NO editing so you can really see how bright they are
This summer I really wanted to make a point to be spontaneous and make a day trip here and there. Well, alas, I went to Santa Barbara with one of my coworkers and had SO much fun! I had never been to Santa Barbara before and it was such a fun drive up the coast. Of course whenever I go on little road trips In-N-Out is a MUST. On the way there we stopped for a yummy burger for lunch and kept trucking to sunny Santa Barbara.
