Business casual is always a bit of a confusing dress code guideline if you ask me. While, I know this is not what people traditionally mean by business casual I went and ahead and did my very untraditional take on it. Wearing a superrrrr casual outfit and then throwing a blazer on to top off the look has been a go-to recently. I mean, if you’re wearing a blazer no one can tell you that you aren’t dressed nice enough, right!? Keep reading to see how I took a super casual outfit and threw a blazer on top of it to make it a little more put together and a little less slobby looking.
I mean just call me Beyonce okurrrrr! I got this shirt when I saw it in Nordstrom and became enamored with it. Then literally two weeks later Beyonce posted a bunch of photos wearing this shirt and I didn’t think I could love this shirt anymore than I already did, but, alas now it is literally my favorite piece ever. Any whoooo this shirt gives me major 80’s vibes so I kind of ran with it. Keep reading to see how I styled it!
Duster sweaters are my favorite because they are a great third piece to add on to your outfit. Lavender is my favorite color so when I found this duster sweater I knew it was meant to be.
dupe, dupe, dupe it outtttt! Now let me start by saying that I LOVE Free People. I just can’t always afford Free People ~ya feel me~ so below I am showing you how I duped a Free People skirt with a Forever 21 one!
I love finding new workout clothes that are a bit different. Free People always has great options and I have finally been trying some of them out. I love how soft the fabrics are but definitely order a size down from what you normally wear! The material is super stretchy.
I love hiking guys and it is also such a good bonding activity between my sisters and I! For this hike we decided to go to Sand Stone Peak which is the highest mountain in the Santa Monica Mountains, about 3,111 feet high! On the way to this peak there is a point called Inspiration Point which was a beautiful lookout area
When it gets cold out sometimes it’s hard to not wear pants everyday BUTTTT thanks to high knee boots you can change up your usual winter style. As my sister said, high knee boots are perfect because it’s kinda like you’re wearing pants, but, well, you’re not. They keep you warm and are trendy af!
With graduation coming soon (for the second time around) I have been feeling more and more like a Girl Boss. With ideas blooming about building out this blog and styling services it is all very exciting for me. But most of all I like to go by the quote : “Dress how you wish to be dealt with”. With this outfit I was definitely channeling my inner Girl Boss as well as my chic inner Rachel Zoe.
MMMMM who is soooo full they can’t move?!? I know I am! Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays; mainly because it is surrounded by delicious food and of course all of my loving family!
Here is my Thanksgiving look!
J.Crew Tights// Steve Madden ‘Whysper’ Nubuck Bootie in Black// Topshop floppy wool felt hat// Betsy Johnson Coat// Free People Plaid Skirt// Small Gold Ring –‘Marina’ Midi Ring// Marc by Marc Jacobs Watch// Trouve Top// David Yurman ‘Crossover” Bracelet// David Yurman ‘Cable Classics’ Ring
I have to say, I have been looking for some cute black booties for a while and these Steve Madden one’s are just what I was looking for! Not only are they super cute but also extremely comfortable. If those two things aren’t enough these booties are also under $100!! What could be better?!? I mean seriously? They are my perfect fall bootie!
The hat I am wearing I am currently obsessed with! I want to put it with every outfit possible! Hat’s make every outfit look just that much better!! The Betsy Johnson Coat is my FAVORITE trench coat. This coat is so fun because it is not a traditional trench coat. This coat flairs out at the bottom and has just the cutest flower buttons! It is just darling! And of course this Free People Plaid Skirt I am just swooning over!! It is so chic and fun, perfect for the holidays (and it has pockets, which makes me love it even more)!
For Thanksgiving I am home in Iowa and it is FREEZING. It is currently 3 degree’s out so I am inside by the fire drinking some hot chocolate! Here are some pictures of the food my family made for Thanksgiving! My special dish I make each year is the Sweet Potato casserole (obviously the best dish of the night)!
Phew! I am in a complete food coma, so I must go watch a movie now! I hope you guys enjoy this post!
What is everyone’s favorite Thanksgiving dish?!? Be sure to comment and let me know!
